The City of Lowell proposed to build three new elementary schools for the Acre, Centralville and Highlands neighborhoods: two on former school sites and one on city park land. The schools were approximately 30,000 square feet, housing 450 students.
Each school site presented different problems to be addressed in fitting a similar program on each of them. The site development for each school included a main entry area, a school bus drop-off loop, parent drop-off area, parking for approximately 50 cars, and associated play areas. Athletic fields provided include Little League, softball, and basketball courts. After these projects were completed, the city retained the same project team to design two more elementary schools.
