The Loop

The Loop is a 520,000 square foot shopping / entertainment mall that was built on the site of the former Methuen Mall. The former mall, developed in 1972, was a 618,000 square foot regional mall that steadily lost tenant occupancy until, by the early 1990's, a large part of the mall was inactive.

Methuen Investors purchased the site in 1997 and proceeded with development of a new mall. The old mall was completely demolished and new buildings and infrastructure were built. The new mall, designed to meet current market conditions, is a successful, vibrant facility that was 98% occupied upon completion of construction and achieved 100% occupancy shortly thereafter. Included in the development is a 20 screen, 4,200 seat stadium theater, seven restaurants, and a wide mix of retail and entertainment uses.
