Recreational Facilities & Playgrounds

 |
The design and implementation of recreational facilities accounts for a significant portion of our design practice. These facilities range in size from small vest pocket playgrounds in urban neighborhoods to large multi-play athletic facilities for parks and schools.
Most of the 100 school projects we have been involved with have included outdoor facilities that have been designed for multiple use to accommodate extra curricular activities, including softball and baseball fields; tennis, basketball and volleyball courts; all-weather, synthetic running tracks; turf and synthetic football and soccer fields. Most of the elementary schools have included kinder play areas that also function as tot lots during after school hours.
Many of our commercial and industrial projects have also incorporated recreational facilities for employee use; these facilities include softball fields for league play, soccer fields, tennis and basketball courts, exercise courses, and recreational trail systems. Bicycle paths have also been incorporated into our projects, as well as informational nature trail systems.
Accessibility and safety are our prime concerns in designing recreational facilities. We have a thorough understanding of the needs of each sports activity, and we are familiar with the latest design guidelines and safety recommendations for each sports use
